Recondition Your Own Batteries

I just bought a new laptop which has a battery backup of around 3.5 hours. I know from my previous experience that this backup time will decrease with time. So are there any methods to prolong the battery life ?

Should I use the laptop on power-on all the time ? Or should I alternate between battery and power-on ? How much should I alternate ?
Should I discharge the battery completely once every month ?

Thanks for all the valuable suggestions!

I find it’s best to follow these steps…
1. Don’t charge your laptop while using it.
2. Let your Laptop die before charging it.
3. Avoid magnets and over use.

I was wondering if it’s possible to charge regular rechargeable batteries in my 360 controller since I only have the USB charge cable and not the charge pack. Thanks!

I don’t think you can i’m pretty sure that the cable will take over powering up the controller and the batteries will just sit there doing nothing.

I got a 10 pack non-rechargeable batteries and I’m only going to use two of them. So, I was curious to if i don’t use the rest of the batteries for long time like 2-3 months. Do their battery life is reduced?, are they slowly discharged? OR are they the same after such a long time?

There are a lot of types. If you mean regular alkaline batteries, 2 or 3 months won’t hurt. They take more than 5 years to lose half their charge.

Im working on a project and I have a volt meter hooked up to the circuit to tell me the voltage of the pack. I need to know at what voltage can i safely bring my lead acid battery pack down to without causing damage to the cells. Thank you.

it depends on the lead acid cell construction. There are deep discharge types, such as are used in marine batteries, that can be totally discharged without damage. Automobile types, however, cannot take more than about a half discharge without damage.

It also depends on the load current, which will change the voltmeter reading, specially as you get closer to discharge. It also depends on the temperature.

IF you have deep discharge types, and measure the voltage with no current flowing, and the temperature is close to 20ÂșC, then for a 12 volt battery, full charge is 12.7 volts, full discharge is 11.7 volts, half discharge is 12.5 volts. Multiply by 3 for a 36 volt battery.

I bought my spyder rocking trigger and it didn’t come with the rechargeable battery so i put a regular 9.6v battery in it and it says it has a low battery and automatically turns on safety if you shoot too fast… It was a brand new battery so I know it wasn’t a low battery… If thats not the problem ten cam you tell me what you think it is??? Thank you for your help…

The Spyder RT should work with a 9.6v battery and you don’t neccesarily need a spyder rechargeable battery. If it doesn’t work with a regular battery try a different one or try a different brand. If it didn’t come with a rechargeable battery, that means you don’t have to buy one. Just in case, try checking the manual and see what it says. Is the gun used?
