Apple calls it the best mobile game device. Can it handle constant gaming?
This 2nd generation iPod touch (it’s NOT called iTouch) lasted 2 hours 28 minutes with full brightness and no sound or wifi. This time-lapse shows a minute of gameplay every second.
Check out my editorial about these results here: http://www.everythingicafe.com/articles/2009/1/1/the-funnest-ipod-ever…when-you-keep-it-plugged-in/
No Wi-Fi.
No sound.
Full brightness.
Featured games in order of appearance, all downloaded from the iPhone App Store:
Hero of Sparta
WaveBlazer
Asphalt 4
CrazyTanks – this game gave me two 20% battery warnings and then crashed, would not start back up so I went back to
Hero of Sparta
Then it died just as I was about to go back to WaveBlazer
Ouch. I’m glad I finished a few levels of Hero of Sparta before it died.
Next one will turn brightness back down and I’ll see how Wi-Fi alone affects the battery life.
Feel free to comment or message me ideas for apps you’d like me to show off in my videos.
